Kano Emir, Sanusi Removes Ado Bayero’s Son As Ciroman

The succession crisis rocking the Kano royal family since the
death of the the former Emir, Alhaji Ado Bayero, has taken a new
turn with the removal of the eldest son of the late emir from office
as the Ciroman Kano.
The Office of the Ciroman Kano is said to be usually reserved for the
eldest son of the reigning Emir.
Mal Muhammadu Sunusi II who ordered the removal of the late
Emir’s son from the title holders in the emirate Council via a letter to
the late Emir’s son was not however categorical on his “sins” before
his removal.
Feelers from the palace however hinted that the Ciroman, the eldest
son of the late Emir, since the mandatory paying homage to the
new Emir after his nomination by the King Makers, left the state to
settle in Abuja in order to avoid clash of interest within the royal
family.
From all indication, the current Emir feels as a result of this
relocation, his authority as the 14th ruler was being threatened
owing to the total absence from all activities of the palace including
the yearly Sallah Durbah celebrations.
Since assuming the mantle of as the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Lamido
Sunusi has not hidden his disdain to the love and affection being
shown on the late Emir’s children who are among the senior title
holders at the palace.
However, that situation forced the former Central Bank of Nigeria
boss to elevate some title holders above the late Emir’s sons all in
an attempt to frustrate them so that they will dump the title and
leave the palace.
It was said that some notable personalities in the state like Alhaju
Amiunu Dantata, Alhaji Istaka Rabiu and Dan Masanin Kano Yusuf
Maitama Sule prevailed upon them not to do that for the unity and
progress of the palace and the royal family.
The Emir, having sensed that it will not be feasible, appointed a new
district head and posted him to Gwale local government which is a
direct confrontational approach by the the family of the Ado Bayero.
That action was also repealed by notable people who are very close
to the late Emir. They were to be unhappy with the festering
relations within the royal house.
It was not however ascertained weather Kano Emir will remove all of
Alhaji Ado Bayere’s sons from their respective domains as district
heads.
Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressives Congress also on its part
gave the assurance that President Buhari will not stop anti-graft
agencies from probing members of the ruling party, including
ministerial nominees who are culpable of corruption as the president
is a respecter of rule of law.
