I Have Never Cheated on My Husband – Tiwa Savage Responds

Tiwa Savage finally broke silence to respond to the series of allegations her husband made against her following an intense outburst on Instagram that shook the entertainment industry.
Following the rants and accusations made by Tiwa Savage’s husband, Tunji ‘Teebillz’ Balogun about the singer’s alleged $excapades with female colleagues in the entertainment industry, she has come forward to deny the allegations.
Speaking in a recent video interview with ThisDay’s Azuka Ogujiuba, the ‘Kele Kele’ love singer, amongst other revelations said she has never cheated on at husband.
“I have never cheated on my husband. Not with Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, 2face Idibia or anybody. I am willing to take a lie detector test.
“I have never cheated on my husband, and Tunji knows this. He knows that in his heart.
“This hurts. I have seen comments of what people are saying about me. It is not true,” she said.
Tiwa however admitted that the marriage is over and she would at this time focus on raising her baby. She also said she would pray for her estranged husband to get well

Really!!!Teebillz Takes Cocaine, He’s Even In Trouble With EFCC Over N45m – Tiwa Savage

Mavin Records‘ first lady, Tiwa Savage has finally opened up on the allegations levelled against her by her husband of two years, Tee Billz, saying the 323 Entertainment head is in huge debt.
Earlier today, we broke the story that the songstress would address the allegations her husband made on Instagram yesterday (April 28) in an exclusive interview.
Speaking with ThisDay‘s Azuka Ogujiuba, Tiwa who was close to tears during the entire interview revealed that Tee Billz has been living a lifestyle beyond his means.
Apart from buying things he can’t immediately afford, the singer disclosed that her husband is in huge debt of N45million and his creditors are already on his tail.
‘Since I sacked him from my management, he has been struggling financially. He was stealing from me, so I had to save my marriage and separate business from family.
TJ wants to keep up with the Joneses, he wants to live a life that is not true. He went to buy a car, a Mercedes that he knew that he didn’t have the money for it. The person kept up calling that he wants the balance. I ended up paying the balance of over 3M.
When it was time to pay, I put the money in his account, so they don’t know I was the person paying for it. He also bought a Rolex, and didn’t pay the balance. They threaten to go to the press, and to protect my name, I will have to pay for it. He goes to clubs and leaves the tabs for me, and I have to pay for him. He is putting us in debt,’ she revealed amid tears.
She continued, ‘What set off all off this was that he went to borrow 45 million Naira from someone and he lost it. I just found out that EFCC was investigating a case against him, and my brother called me from London and confirmed it that TJ is in deep trouble, and that some people might hurt him, that I should be careful. In my frantic mode to try and suppress this situation I went to one of my big bros who can help.
A week ago I told TJ that we were running out of Jamil’s food, but he didn’t do nothing. He complains, but cuts his hair twice a week. I have been searching for N45M so that they don’t kill him, so that they EFCC does not carry him.‘

I Will Bring Jamil Up To Be A Good Man’ – Tiwa Savage’s Says Emotionally

Nigerian pop star, Tiwa Savage might have resigned to fate as she seems to be finding solace in her 9-month-old son Jamil, seeking to raise him to become a ‘good man’.
Following the singer’s interview with ThisDay’s Azuka Ogujiuba about Tee Billz‘ explosive accusations, she appears to want to simply concentrate on raising her son in the best way possible.
The Mavin records act who said she never wanted to divorce her husband, promised she wouldn’t prevent the toddler from spending quality time with his father.
‘I will never stop him from seeing Jamil, never. Even today, Jamil is still saying ‘dadada’, and I was saying it with him as well, that’s his first word. I want to bring him up to be a good man,’ she said.
She however apologized for anything she might have done wrong, knowingly or unknowingly, while also stating she’ll continue to support her estranged husband with prayers.
‘If there is anything that maybe I overlooked, or didn’t love him enough, or made him less of a man, then I am sorry. I am absolutely sorry.
Tunji I am sorry. But you know I tried everything, you know I love you so much, and I am sorry, I never wanted to divorce, and I never wanted it to get to this. I want you to get better and I would always pray for you’.
The couple welcomed their son, Jamil to the world on July 22, 2015.

Talking Tough - Since My Son Has Been Born, Tee Billz Has Not Spent One Naira – Tiwa Savage Reveals

Tiwa Savage has revealed that her hubby, Tunji ‘ Teebillz ‘ Balogun has not spent a dime on the family since their son Jamil was born on July 22, 2015 in London.
While speaking in a tell-all interview with ThisDay’s Azuka
Ogujiuba , the delectable songstress further disclosed that she has been paying for everything while her husband uses his money for extramarital affairs.
‘Since my son has been born, TJ has not spent one naira. I paid for the hospital bills, I paid for his flight to come to London, I paid for the apartment we stayed for 2 months, the clothes, the nursery, the grocery, even when we were in London we didn’t just go shopping for my son, we shopped for TJ as well so that when we come back to Nigeria he’ll have new things because his excuse most times is, I don’t have money, I don’t have money…
‘So I try to pay for everything because I have to pay for everything otherwise where will we be. So at least he can go out hustle or focus on the contracts he’s looking for. And he’ll still tell me he doesn’t have money to buy diapers but he has money to get haircut twice a week, he has money to do laundry, he has money to take women to hotel rooms’.

I Knew My Marriage Wouldn’t Work Out’ – Tiwa Savage

The singer and mother of one has just granted an explosive tell-all interview.
As we exclusively reported earlier that today could officially mark the end of the 2-year old marriage between Nigerian pop star, Tiwa Savage and her husband, Tunji ‘ Teebillz ’ Balogun, the singer and mother of one has just granted an explosive tell-all interview.
In the 45-minute long interview, Tiwa Savage explained that, ‘My marriage and relationship has been very public and at one point I decided that I didn’t want to make it public anymore. So I’m always nervous when it comes to his birthday because if I post they read meaning to it, if I don’t then they’ll say we’ve broken up or there is problem in our relationship’.
‘In this case I knew the anniversary was coming and I was either going to post or not, but the honest truth is that for the past two months, TJ and I have not been together, and it was something that we were trying to work through but for me I knew that this marriage wasn’t going to work. It’s been like that for the past two months. I didn’t know if I should post and keep up appearances or if I should face reality’.

Topic:- THE LORD MY FORTRESS – Saturday April 30th 2016

Memorise: And he said the LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer. 2nd Samuel 22:2

Read: Psalms 91:1-8,
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

MESSAGE
The experience of David concerning divine protection is worthy of study. In our memory verse for today, he said: “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer”. Whoever experiences these attributes of God in his life can be rightly described as the inheritance of the Lord. The Psalmist further wrote.

“They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. Psalms 125:1

One point to quickly note is that this Bible verse talks only to those who put their trust in the Lord, not those who have alternatives.

David trusted totally in the Lord and he was never disappointed, that’s why he made such statements as this;

“As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. Psalms 125:2

In other words, the Lord builds walls of protection round about his people. This is ‘food for thought’ for double-minded people who are still in doubt of God’s ability to totally protect. Some people are even afraid of prosperity, because they feel they will be prone to attacks from their enemies if they get rich. They obviously do not know that the Almighty God that prospers is the One that protects as well.

“Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence…. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day.” Psalms 91:3, 5

One is thrilled by the assurance with which the Psalmist tells us about the Lord’s protection over His people. David’s experiences, first with the lion and the bear, and later with Goliath, are testimonies that should make a doubter believe that our God is indeed Jehovah-Nissi.

I assure you that if you put your trust in the Lord, your protection is guaranteed. Our Lord never fails, He watches over his elect so that His name will not be blasphemed. Also, He fights on behalf of His elect so that they may not be discouraged by the battles of life.

My prayer is that the Rock of Ages will continue to protect you and your loved ones in the name of Jesus. However, ensure that you have no other god beside the Almighty God.

Action Point:
Father, please deliver me from the nets of the fowlers in Jesus’ name.

One Killed As Vigilante Group Clash With Hoodlums In Ajegunle, Lagos

Gunshots alted activities on some streets in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State on Tuesday as members of a vigilance group clashed with hoodlums over money sharing formula.
Some members of a vigilance group clashed with hoodlums over formula for money sharing as gunshots paralysed activities on Arumoh and Ugbonwankwo streets in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State on Tuesday.
It was learnt that some undisclosed money had earlier been paid by a man who was building a house in the area to one of the groups to enable his contractors to work unhindered.
According to reports, as the two groups could not agree to any sharing formula, it led to a free-for-all, during which a youth, identified as Rasheed Olanrewaju, was shot dead while others were said to have been injured in the rampage, which residents said, lasted for three hours.
It was gathered that policemen from the Ajegunle division were invited to the scene, but the warring parties ignored them as they were said to have burnt down an office of the vigilance group in the area, after which the police arrested two suspects.
A resident on Ugbonwankwo Street, Comfort Udoh, said she and her children laid on the floor in their one-room apartment while the gunshots lasted.
“We learnt that the leader of the vigilance group, Ezekiel, was greedy. His attitude caused the fight. The other group wanted him to share the money equally, but he refused.
“The money is owo omo onile (land speculator’s levy) which landlords pay before putting up any structure on their sites. People later said Ezekiel’s group shot dead one person belonging to the other faction. Some other people said the person killed was an innocent resident.”
Another resident, identified only as Chuka, said the vigilance group members were the ones who collected the owo omo onile, and the hoodlums demanded their share.
“Ezekiel is the leader of a popular vigilance group unit in the area. He was said to have collected a huge sum of money from a man who wanted to build a house, but the other group demanded their share of the illegal money. In the process, a gun battle started between the two groups.
“Four of the hoodlums sustained injuries during the shootout. The clash caused panic in our area. The hoodlums opened gunfire on one another. Later, the Ajegunle Divisional Police Officer and some policemen came and arrested two of the hoodlums,” he said.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the clash. She added that investigation was ongoing on the matter.
“There was a fight between some area boys (hoodlums) and vigilance group members over omo onile’s money collected by the leader of the vigilance group which he allegedly refused to share. The hoodlums set ablaze the office of the vigilance group and a shop beside it.
“In the process, the vigilance group shot dead one man, Rasheed (Olanrewaju). Two suspects have been arrested and detained. The police recovered two live and four expended cartridges from the scene. Investigation is ongoing into the matter,” she said.

Memorise: Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Read: James 4:7-10,
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

MESSAGE
Submitting to the perfect will of God is a great weapon against trials and temptations. It is wisdom for us to submit to the One who is our present help in time of trouble. Jesus Christ is our closest ally in the battle of life. This is why those who do not have Him as their personal Lord and Saviour are vulnerably disposed to sorrow, frustration and death.

For us to enjoy the support and the defence of our great Ally, Jesus Christ, Apostle James wrote to say that we should submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and then he will flee from us (James 4:7).

The Bible says that pride goes before a fall. Many people fall into temptation because of pride. This is why the scripture enjoins us to live soberly as we fight the good fight of faith.

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith..” Romans 12:3

Humility and sobriety are great instruments of defence in the face of temptation. We are encouraged to humble ourselves in the sight of God so that He can lift us up. Once we are lifted up above principalities and powers, no temptation can floor us, because the Almighty is our Ally. People easily fall prey to trials and temptations because of their failure to live soberly. Over two thousand years ago. Apostle James gave us a key to solving this problem. He wrote:

“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:14-5

To overcome trials and temptations, we must run to Jesus afresh today with sober hearts and humility. He will come to our aids, just on time.

Action Point:
Examine your life; see where and how you have exposed yourself to trials and temptations and make amends with the blood of Jesus Christ.

Cultists Butcher Four For Refusing Initiation In Anambra (Graphic Photos)

A deadly suspected cult group have invaded Ezi-Umunya village of Anambra State. A reliable source revealed that four youths, Ekene Nweke, Ike Nwankwo, Anierobi Nwizu, Wilson Ikwuka from the community who were allegedly attacked by the ravaging cult group were said to have been lying critically ill in different hospitals. Graphic photo below…
The source said those attacked were left with various degrees of machete cuts while many who are said to be in the list of the attackers flee the community for fear of being killed.
It was gathered that the ravaging cultists, having failed to lure their victims and many other youths in Umunya community into their nefarious activities, ended up in slicing their victims with machetes and axes.
Reacting to the ugly development, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Umunya town union, Mr. Obi Ezeana said the present attack came few weeks after the Anambra State government inaugurated a caretaker committee, charged with the responsibility of reconciling the warring parties in the area as well as conducting election into the town union executive.
According to him, the suspected cultists acted on the traditional ruler of Umunya Community, HRH, Igwe Chris Onyekwuluje.
“After our swearing in, I personally led eleven other members of the caretaker committee to the State Commissioner of Police and to the Divisional Police Officer, Nteje police division, SP Daniel Barnabas and pleaded with them to stop arresting members of the community pending the outcome of the peace crusade we have embarked upon.
“To my chagrin, we called the two factions of Ezi-Umunya village that were having problems over the election of village leadership for roundtable talks, aimed at restoring peace among warring factions, at the end of the meeting, policemen from Nteje police division stormed the venue of our meeting, arrested Ekene Nweke and detained him at the police station. It took me time to release him on bail and on his way home from the police station; he was attacked by the suspected cult group led by Samson Nwabude,” Mr. Ezeana stated.
The victims, who reacted from their respective hospital beds, said the attack was as a result of their refusal to be initiated into the dreaded cult group led by Samson Nwabude. They however distanced the attack from the leadership crisis rocking the Ezi-Umunya village, stating that bringing in the crisis in their village leadership was a plot to distract the operations of the cult group allegedly sponsored by the traditional ruler of the community.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Nteje Police Division, SP, Daniel Barnabas confirmed the incident, saying his men on patrol rescued the first victim, Ekene Nweke.

Memorise: Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which he Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12

Read: Proverbs 1:11-15,
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
13 We shall find all precious substance; we shall fill our houses with spoil:
14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

MESSAGE
The irony of the spiritual realm is that the tempter is the prosecutor. The Bible says:

“And the great dragon was cast out that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceieveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” Revelation 12:9-10

The above scripture points to one bitter truth; trials and temptations are characteristics of life whether we believe it or not. It is, however, better to believe it because it is then we can preparedly overcome it. The Bible also confirms it by attaching a blessing to overcomers of temptation:

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” James 1:12

It takes genuine love for God to be able to overcome temptation. Joseph was able to overcome the temptation of sleeping with his master’s wife because of the love he had for God. This love was what produced his victory. He said:

“There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Genesis 39:9

As said earlier, there will always be temptations as long as we are on this earth. Temptation is not a sin but falling into it is the sin. The bad thoughts that the devil flashes at you are not sins until you begin to hatch and execute them. It is our resistance to temptation that makes us overcomers. The Bible says:

“Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.” Hebrews 12:4

My prayer for someone using this devotional is that you remain an overcomer over sin from now on in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point:
Father, sanctify me wholly from every besetting sin by the Blood of Jesus shed on the Cross.

Memorise: O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Romans 7:24

Read: Romans 7:18-25,
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

MESSAGE
The flesh is another deadly enemy of man. The flesh attacks the soul through its poisonous activities. These activities are listed in Galatians 5:19-21;

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

The above listed activities of the flesh are deadly, primarily because they prevent a man inheriting the kingdom of God. An enemy is not a serious one if it can only kill you, but cannot prevent you from making it to heaven.

Jesus Christ said:

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him which is able to destroy both souls and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28

Consequently, the flesh and its activities are very dangerous, but Christians have become so complacent that they sit back and allow these activities drag them off the track of heaven. The Bible says:

“Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth into his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent… But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destoryeth his own soul.” Proverbs 6:28, 32

The works of the flesh can be destroyed through only one means and that means is Jesus Christ. Beloved, I encourage you to give you life to Christ totally today, and do away with all works of the flesh.

Action Point:
Read Colossians 3:5 and pray with it.

I 60-year-old grandmother, Asabi Adebayo, has told the Oyo State Police Command that she had a thriving baby trafficking ring where she allegedly bought five babies for the whopping sum of N5 million, at N1 million per baby, with the sole purpose of taking the babies to the United State of America, for sale.

Memorise: My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. Proverbs 1:10

Read: Genesis 3:1-5,
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

MESSAGE
One of the earliest weapons of the devil against both the spiritual and physical well-being of man is enticement. He has, from time immemorial, been successfully using this weapon against humanity. The first time He used it was in the Garden of Eden.

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, Genesis 3:4-6a

As a matter of fact, the fruit was not better looking than other fruits of the garden, but the mental picture that the devil painted about it suggested to the woman that the fruit was better than the ones God had generously given them to eat. Today, there are many good things of life that God has provided for humanity and His children in particular, but the enticement of the enemy has robbed many people of the joy and contentment in God’s benevolence. For example; if a man goes about chasing a woman who is not his wife, he is deluded and enticed to think that the strange woman possesses something that his wife does not have. It is the lie of the devil when you think that a second marriage will give you the joy that you did not have in the first. Read this confession of the first polygamist in history:

“And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah… And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.” Genesis 4:19, 23

Though we may not have the full details of Lamech’s lamentation in this passage, the fact remains that an increase in the number of his wives did not spare him from the agony that instigated this lament.

Beloved, in what areas have you been deceived through the enticement of the devil? I pray that the enticement will loosen its grip over you from today in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point:
Father, when sinners come around to entice me, may I not consent in Jesus’ name.

Charles Airhiavbere (retd); a former governor of the state, Prof. Osarhiemien Osunbor; the Chairman of the Edo State Economic Team, Mr Godwin Obaseki; Mr Kenneth Imasuagbon; Comrade Peter Esele; Prof. Frederick Ebegue Amadasun; and the only woman in the race, Mrs Tina Agbarha. The state Commissioner for Works, Osarodion Ogie, was initially in the race but shelved the ambition after his boss informed him of his desire to support Obaseki.
Meanwhile, the relationship between the governor and his deputy has broken down in the past seven months, creating factions in the Edo APC ahead of the governorship primary in the state.
The crisis blew open after Odubu’s coordinator, Barr.Humphrey Uanseoje, signed a letter with other governorship aspirants of the party such as Ogienwonyi, Imasuagbon and Barr. Omo Irabor, which they sent to the national leadership of the APC where they alleged plans by the state Chairman of the party, Anslem Ojezua, to doctor the delegates list for the gubernatorial primary with the backing of Oshiomhole.
The publication shocked many watchers of the politics of the state since it would be the first time the deputy governor will be openly accusing his boss of alleged plot to manipulate the forthcoming primary of the APC.
Odubu’s loyalists and those of the governor had been in the trenches following Oshiomhole’s apparent reluctance to back his deputy whom many perceived has been very loyal to his boss since they came into office.
But worried by this development, Ogie, who is known as one of the generals in the Oshiomhole’s political family, took up the initiative to settle the rift between the governor and his deputy.
Ogie, in collaboration with the member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Philip Shuaibu, decided to make this move, given that Odubu has been part of Oshiomhole’s political machinery since 2007.
The intention was to stop the animosity which they believed will help to keep the governor’s camp intact, ahead of the primary of the party.
What Ogie did was to put persons also close to Odubu in the reconciliation committee so that the deputy governor will not lose confidence in the committee.
As a result, a former Edo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Lucky James, and Chief Gabriel Oibo, who are key supporters of Odubu, were drafted into the committee.
This committee held their first meeting on Sunday, April 10, 2016, where they agreed to meet with Odubu first to preach the gospel of peace to him.
When the committee met with Odubu, Ogie informed him of the need to restore peace between him and the governor, saying their visit was on a friendly note and had nothing to do with politics.
Odubu was said to have expressed his grievances and informed them that he had nothing against the governor but that he was disappointed that some of his followers were being victimized due to their support for his governorship ambition.
However, Odubu informed members of the committee that he was ready to hold the peace meeting with the governor whom he said he had enjoyed close relationship with until recently.
On Monday April 11, 2016, Oshiomhole came back to Benin from his village, Iyamho, where he met the peace committee waiting for him.
Apart from the members of the committee, led by Ogie, the state Chairman of the APC, Anslem Ojezue; state Secretary, Chief Osaro Idah; Oshiomhole’s in-law, Victor Eboigbe and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Patrick Obahiagbon, were also at the meeting.
Ogie, who opened the meeting, narrated how the group, including the deputy governor, had worked closely in the past ten years with Oshiomhole, saying it would be bad to allow bickering between the governor and his deputy to continue.
The Commissioner for Works offered the two leaders the opportunity to sort out their problem behind closed door while they excused them to do so.
Philip, Oibo and James concurred with Ogie, stressing the need for the governor’s political family to be united in the run up to the party primary and the governorship election.
Oshiomhole, Sunday Vanguard learnt, appreciated their concern but informed the meeting that he will prefer they were around so they could know the real issues and treat them. His deputy concurred and everybody stayed for the meeting.
Firing the first salvo, Odubu lamented that his office had been starved of funds, his political allies victimized, the governor refused to attend his wife’s birthday and, above all, the governor directed his Attorney General, Mr Henry Idahagbon, and Washington Osifo to write a petition against him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with a view to impeaching him.
The deputy governor further lamented how the governor had allegedly relegated him to the background, expressing shock that the cordial relationship, which had existed between him and the governor, broke down.
But responding, Oshiomhole, who recalled how he had backed his deputy in his political battles and his several advice to him as a brother, explained that the parlous state of finance of Edo had even affected his own office and other government offices, and not only that of the deputy.
He narrated how he had been travelling without his aides due to paucity of funds. Oshiomhole went further to berate his deputy for being part of those who signed a statement accusing him of backing the state Chairman of the APC, in the alleged plot to manipulate the delegates list ahead of the primary of the party, asserting that the deputy’s action was a clear indication of an attack against his person.
But Odubu, who defended himself, denied being behind the statement, explaining that his coordinator put his signature with some other party members who needed it but never knew what they wanted to use it for.
But the leaders of the party expressed their doubt in his defence, saying he should have debunked the publication if he was not behind it. Odubu, however, apologised to Oshiomhole, assuring that such mistake will not be repeated.
Tension in the room heightened when Oshiomhole started responding to the allegations against him by Odubu that he did not attend his wife’s birthday and that the governor had treated him recently like a leper.
Sunday Vanguard gathered that the governor declared to the leaders that he had deliberately avoided attending events at his deputy’s house after it was revealed to him that his deputy allegedly contracted native doctors to hurt him so that Odubu will take over as governor.
Oshiomhole said he was informed of the alleged plan by a leader of the party and that he had met with the native doctors whom his deputy allegedly contracted to do the damage, adding that the native doctors admitted and gave him details of how the rituals were executed.
Oshiomhole added that the party leader who leaked the information, who was out of the country, was ready to confront the deputy with the details of his alleged meeting with the witch doctors. He further stated that he could not have attended any ceremony at Odubu’s place, saying he would not want to be poisoned.
The governor’s disclosure was said to have come as a surprise to the APC leaders but it equally elicited strong rebuttal from his deputy who attributed what he described as the spurious allegation to the handiwork of his political enemies.
To buttress his innocence, Odubu volunteered to contact a strong traditional doctor in Benin, so that those who accused him will come and take an oath before the gods.
He vehemently denied the allegation and reiterated his loyalty to the governor. But some of the party leaders at the meeting were said to have countered Odubu with his suggestion, informing him that he should have suggested swearing with the Bible since he is a Catholic.
But Odubu thundered that he was shocked with the allegation and would like to clear his name with whatever that will convince everyone.
Some of the party leaders at the meeting admonished Odubu to end his governorship ambition. However Ogie calmed the situation and the parley ended on a good note after both parties expressed satisfaction.
As the governorship primary of the party, scheduled to hold sometime in June-July, draws closer Oshiomhole’s foot soldiers, led by Ogie, are working round the clock to ensure a united house.
Odubu is viewed as one of the most formidable aspirants in the APC and cannot be taken for granted. Sunday Vanguard was informed that the governor and his deputy exchanged banters after the meeting and a date for another peace meeting was fixed for this week.

Topic:- BELATED OFFERING? – Monday April 25th 2016

Memorise: Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. Luke 24:1
Read: Luke 24:1-8,
1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words,

MESSAGE
Some offerings are acceptable while some are not; some offerings are given at the right time while some are belatedly offered. On the morning of the resurrection, some people brought spices to the sepulchre of Jesus, meanwhile, a few days to His crucifixion, a woman anointed Jesus Christ’s feet with expensive ointment. This woman’s kind gesture was just in time.

“When Jesus understood it , he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.” Matthew 26:10-12

Incidentally, when Jesus Christ died, no one was there to perform the customary anointing before burial for Him. It was in lieu of this that certain disciples came to the resurrection morning that they may anoint Jesus in arrears. However, He had resurrected!

Beloved, there are many lessons to be learnt from this resurrection story; whenever the Holy Spirit asks you to do something, no matter how illogical it may sound, do it immediately. The reason is that if you do it later, it will be a belated offering or service. The disciples who came to anoint Jesus went back with their perfume because the Master was no longer in the grave. James, an apostle of Jesus Christ wrote:

“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?” James 2:14-16

If I may answer the apostle; there can be no profit whatsoever. There could, however, be a loss of that person in need, and it may be a physical or spiritual loss as the fellow may die of hunger or backslide. In this same vein, whenever the Holy Spirit asks you to do something and doing that thing attracts criticisms from men, be undeterred, go ahead and do exactly as you were told. Your critics will soon realise that they were wrong to have criticised you. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide us, and may we continue to obey Him as we journey from the world to our eternal home above.

Action Point
Listen to the Holy Spirit and do all that He asks you to do immediately.
