Journalist, Ahmed Salkida, who has
reported extensively about Boko
Haram, says that Abubakar Shekau,
the leader of Boko Haram is still alive.
Shekau was last heard from in March,
when he released an audio message
pledging allegiance to the Islamic
State (IS) group.
He has not been seen in any of the
sect recently released videos, fueling
speculations that he might have been
killed.
Also the Chadian president, Idriss
Deby fueled this speculation on
Tuesday August 11th when he said a
new leader of Boko Haram, Mahamat
Daoud, has taken over from Shekau.
