No group has claimed responsibility for
the blast, but there are speculations that
Boko Haram is likely to be behind the blast.
Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the
bomb in Yola, in a post made on his Facebook
page, the statesman condemned the hideous
act.
The Facebook status reads: “I’m deeply
saddened by the bombing incident at the Yola
IDP camp today. Only persons with hearts of
evil could do this.”
Adding that: “The Yola IDP camp is the largest
in Nigeria, and refuge to thousands of people
who fled the insurgency from Borno and Yobe.”
The former VP said many people he knew
were working as volunteers in the camp,
including staff and students of AUN, who
sustained minor injuries in today’s blast.

He said: “Today’s attack is an attempt to break
the spirits of the people who came to seek
refuge. The perpetrators will know no peace.”
Adding : “We refuse to be broken. We will win
the war against terrorism. We shall overcome!“
Boko Haram has lost large territories since
the military relaunched its offensive against
the insurgents. The sect has now resorted to
suicide bombing as against its earlier tactics
of capturing territories.
